5 yr mark Requirement for Nat Citizenship starts when (for then temp resident now permanent)?

Hi, guys. my BFF's mother is a legal Permanent Resident. Currently they're looking for a pro-bono lawyer but in the mean time i want to help her out.

Her mom married a US Citizen (naturalized in 1995), in a 2004 US marriage, who also happens to be her biological dad (he left them when she was one, he had another family here in the US, and decided to bring them here after 13 years of abandonment since 1984, to cut the long story short).

Chronology:
2005 - Temporary Permanent Residence issued for her mom + herself
2007 - i-751, conditional removed, Green Card no longer temporary, expires 2017

2010 - The Mom wants to apply for N-400 Naturalization Citizenship

her dad says the mom can't be qualified yet because the 5-year mark begins in 2007 and not in 2005. they've reviewed the M-476 guides, etc. and cannot find anything that says this.

Now Wikipedia is not a reliable source but this was stated in the P.R. page without footnote:

"...this two-year conditional residence period counts towards time as a permanent resident for all purposes including naturalization. However, the application for the removal of conditions mthemt be adjudicated before naturalization can be granted to the applicant."

1. Is this true? Can she now start filing as a 5-year resident? When does the 5 year count begin? Do they count when the first temporary permanent resident card was issued which says "Resident since: 2005" or the 2007 year when condition was lifted?

2. Her mom doesn't want to file using the >3-year married to US Citizen / Gov't employee route as he has (YET AGAIN) been cheating on her mom and they found pictures of naked women, webcams, lingerie, condoms, and neighborhood accounts of the multiple women he brought home before they arrived in 2004. Sorry, TMI.

Classic Dr. Who chronology?

A friend recently turned me on to the new Dr. Who. I would like to start watching it, but I'd also like to try to watch as many of the classic episodes as possible. I know there are have been a bunch of doctors and I'd like to start with the first. (I do recognize that this will take a very long time.) Because of the revived television show, numbered seasons have been no help in my search. In what order should I watch?

How can I tell if I've got a strained rotator cuff or a torn one?

7 weeks ago I fell from my bicycle and landed hard on my outstretched left hand and had muscle pain in my left shoulder. (I also broke my right great toe but that's less painful).

Here is my chronology of pain:

2 weeks of muscle pain which I didn't take seriously.

2 weeks of excruciating pain and nerve pain during the night and inability to move my arm at all as muscles just wouldn't work. Impossible to move arm in arc by my side. Should have gone to A&E but didin't. Woke up at night every 30 mins and had to walk around the room to ease the pain. Arm felt better during the day but was hell during the night. (The onset of this pain was caused I think by stupidly doing pressups and twisting it when reaching for something while I was already injured from my fall).

1 week of severe pain, but not so much nerve pain. Shoulder would become frozen at times and painful to move, numb arm, would have to move hand around to wake it up. Still unable to move arm in arc by my side.

1 week of muscle pain and horrible pain during the night, but not excruciating or severe. Able to move arm in arc now, but only tentatively.

1 week of the same pain if I move my arm up. I can't carry things. I can't move my shoulder around much and certainly can't do any sudden jerky movements - has to be slow. Able to sleep for 3 hour blocks now, but then wake up with shoulder pain again.

Did I tear my rotator cuff? Did I strain or sprain it? How can you tell the difference?

This is obvsiouly a serious injury and I really should have gone to the doctor before. I am incapacited but I don't work anyway so it doesn't effect employment. I am able to dress, cycle and shop but I can't do what I used to and I can't reach for things up on high shelves.

Will I ever recover?

I have submitted two questions just prior to this one about thermoclines, stratification and the maths to prove categorically what is going on. I want the maths for my own amateur studies and application where I fish. My next question...
I have read; Ecology by Krebs, Ecology by Rickleff, Ecology by Begon, Townsend and Harper, Biology by Cambell and Reese and no-where do I get more than prose. These are degree course texts for each subject. I did a degree in Engineering and everything had mathematical rigeur. Now, what happens to the temperature profile through soil and rock strata? Easiest thing in the world to regurgitate a water column without the maths. That easily seen (minds-eye) of a column of water is occuring in the ground, also. As soon as the water table is reached, it applies...no two ways about it. It has massive implications and no-one mentions it. Cold in a cave deep under ground? How cold? Not as cold as outside! Not freezing! Thermal currents through saturated rock strata behave no differently to a column of water in a resevoir. No-one ever touches it...or even suggests it's apparent. Why is that? A chap I know has spent his life studying a fresh water lake deep below the antarctic icecap...deep, deep ice cores of biological chronology. Terrified of breaking into the lake because it has been trapped for a million years and contaminating it. British Antarctic Survey stuff...but the same applies....where there's a column...maths, please.

To "return" does not always mean that one goes to a literal place. Thus sick persons are said to ‘return to health.’ And a former ruler may be said to ‘return to power.’ In a similar way, God told Abraham at Genesis 18:14; 21:1: “I shall return to you, next year at this time, and Sarah will have a son” (Genesis 18:14 {American Standard Version} Click Here / Genesis 21:1 {American Standard Version} Click Here ).

Jehovah’s "return" meant, NOT LITERALLY returning, but turning his attention to Sarah to do what he had promised. IN THE SAME WAY, Christ’s "return" DOES NOT mean that he LITERALLY comes back to this earth. Rather, it means that he takes Kingdom power toward this earth and turns his attention to it. He does not need to leave his heavenly throne and actually come down to earth to do this. Bible evidence, chronology and worldwide events shows that in the year 1914 C.E, God’s time arrived for Christ to "return" and begin ruling.

It was then that the cry was heard in heaven recorded at Revelation 12:10:

“NOW have come to pass the salvation and the power and THE KINGDOM of our God and THE AUTHORITY of his Christ”.

Since Christ’s return is invisible, is there a way to confirm that it has really occurred? Yes, there is. Christ himself gave a VISABLE COMPOSITE “sign” by which we may know that he is invisibly present and the end of this present world (global system of things) is near.

This question is DEAD SERIOUS and the majority of the people have absolutely no clue... just as Jesus himself said would be the case during the time of his Parousia (presence).

I'm TOTALLY enjoying this and find the negative answers that the majority here are giving to actually be VERY faith strengthening to me!
Shortly before Jesus’ death, while he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, four of his apostles came to ask him for a “sign”.

This is the way their question has been read, in the King James Version Bible, by millions of people:

“Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and the end of the world?”
~Matthew 24:3

But what do these expressions, “thy coming” and “the end of the world,” really mean?

The Greek word here translated “coming” is PAROUSIA, and it means “PRESENCE”.

So, then, when the “sign” is seen, this means we would know that Christ is PRESENT though unseen, that he has ALREADY "come" (returned) in heavenly royal Kingdom power.

The expression “end of the world” is also very misleading. It DOES NOT mean the end of the earth, but, rather, the end of Satan’s system of things (2 Corinthians 4:4).
The apostles’ question therefore ACCURATELY reads as follows:

“Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your PRESENCE and of THE CONCLUSION OF THE SYSTEM OF THINGS?”

Jesus DID NOT give just ONE event as “the sign.” He told of MANY happenings and situations. Other Bible writers besides Matthew mentioned ADDITIONAL EVENTS that would mark the “last days” of this world (system of things).

All these things that were foretold would take place during the time that Bible writers called the “last days” (2 Timothy 3:1-5; 2 Peter 3:3, 4). These happenings would be like the different lines that make up a person’s fingerprint, a print that cannot belong to any other person. The “last days” contain their own pattern of marks, or happenings. These form a positive “fingerprint” that CANNOT belong to ANY OTHER time period.

This "world" entered it's LAST DAYS in 1914, we are DEEP in the time of the end.

Timeline/chronology of 5 significant events in Catch-22 by Joseph Heller?

Part of my english summer project. I read the book, but just can't think of the 5 most significant events in the book.
I don't think the meeting between Yossarian and Major Major (after he tackled him in the ditch) was that important, because he just told him he couldn't do anything about it. So Yossarian was still in the same place. Yossarian being in the hospital can't really be on the timeline because he goes to the hospital 3 times. I don't remember anything about a rat. And the incident in which McWatt's propeller cuts Kid Sampson in half and then he intentionally crashes into the mountain does not significantly change Yossarian. Yes he has lost everyone, except the chaplain, but he had already lost many friends and was already set on not flying anymore missions. Therefore it isn't really a turning point in the story.

We have no doubt whatever in regard to the chronology relating to the dates of 1874, 1914, 1918, and 1925. It was on this line of reckoning that the dates 1874, 1914, and 1918 were located; and the Lord has placed the stamp of his seal upon 1914 and 1918 beyond any possibility of erasure. What further evidence do we need?
Using this same measuring line.... it is an easy matter to locate 1925, probably in the fall, for the beginning of the antitypical jubilee. There can be no more question about 1925 than there was about 1914.

The Lascaux peoples are referred to as "prehistoric" because they appear to have existed before recorded (written) history, which begins about 4,000 BC; the civilizations that existed after this approximate date and before about 500 AD are referred to as "ancient."

Ancient peoples probably used their art to work magic perhaps thinking that the pictures they drew of animals gave them some control over them.

When we marvel at how an artist has capture a scene "just right" it may seem simple and obvious but what we don't see is how much thought and study the artist has to put into the work to make it seem this way.

The word "art" may mean very different things in different times and places.

Lascaux peoples drew pictures of animals in deep caves using natural earth materials as colorants, probably without using a binder.

The fact that a thing was difficult to make proves that it is a work of art.

If we find fault with the accuracy of a painting or picture we have to question if whether the artist may have his or her reasons for changing the appearance of what they saw.

When we speak of "primitive" art we imply that the people who made this art have only a primitive knowledge of their craft.

There is no wrong reason for liking a particular painting or sculpture. But there are wrong reasons for thinking that something is not good or valid art based on the technique used to create it or its level of detail.

A chronology is a listing of things in the sequence in which they occurred in time, from earliest to most recent. A correct chronology of civilizations is Lascaux peoples, Altamira peoples, North African people of the Sahara, Sumerians, Greeks, and Egyptians.

[BACKGROUND OF QUESTION: I taught at Oxford for two years before spending most of the rest of my career teaching in the U.S. and I noticed that American students made presuppositions/judgments about ancients texts which the British undergrads usually did not. And this one was my favorite example. The American students seemed to assume that EVERY CULTURE must approach a topic just as they would -- and because Western cultures tend to emphasize chronologies by listing events from first to last, they assumed that the ancient culture behind the Genesis 2 creation story had to conform with the same rules. So I've wondered: Is this simply another example of American cultural insularity?]

My Dad has severe leg pain and no treatment is working I have listed all the information below please help!?

What started off several months ago as just fatigue and tiredness in his legs which would go away while sitting or sleeping, has now turned into severe pain in his legs (from his waist down to his ankles) which is constantly with him. It is bearable pain when sitting or laying down but quickly becomes unbearable when standing or walking. This major change happened approx. 10 weeks ago and the only thing that we can figure to explain this change was a missed step coming down the stairs which resulted in a loss of balance and awkward recovery that twisted the back and seemed to hurt something internal to the spine area. Have since had an X-ray and MRI which continues to show the formerly diagnosed spondylolisthesis. This diagnosis has now been discounted by Dr. Quigley (Spine specialist) as the source of the severe pain in the legs. Dr. Quigley feels that "spondy.." is not the likely source of the pain and that further testing is required to make a more accurate diagnosis. While we wait to figure out the root cause of the issue, dad's pain seems to be uncontrollable resulting in him being extremely restless.

In order to control the pain have tried the following since 3/19/10:
- 3 epidural shots in the back with the last one administered on 5/1/10. There was no relief at all from these shots
- Oxycodone (10 - 325mg) - 1 tablet every 6 hours (Hit or Miss Relief)
- Fentanyl 25mcg Pain Patch - replace every 72 hours - Prescription given on 4/1/10 to replace ineffective Oxycodone. Once again Hit or Miss relief. - Lyrica (50mg) - prescribed on 4/6/10 by Dr. Loev

Overall medical history:

- No history of vascular/muscular pain in the past
- No history of arthritis
- No history of heart disease or diabetes
- No medicines taken on a regular basis


Chronology of treatment (prior to onset of excruciating pain):
- Primary care physician Dr. Anoma Bandara referred dad to a vascular specialist Dr. Robert Fox (Jan 2010)

- Dr. Fox did a sonogram and found no vascular issues and requested MRI's of the spine (results and images on CD) and referred dad to see Dr. Quigley (Orthopedic surgeon) - completed in Feb 2010

- Meanwhile Dr. Bandara reviewed the MRI report and referred dad to see Dr. Zachary Levine a neuro surgeon from the Brain and Spine institute

- Dr. Levine asked for an X-Ray to be done (results and images on CD) and recommended against any kind of surgery based on Dad's age and instead recommended physical therapy. - completed in Feb. 2010

-In order to pursue possible parallel diagnosis of the issue also saw Dr. Quigley (spine specialist) who prescribed some steroids to attack possible inflammation in the spine area and possibly relieve the pain. He diagnosed the condition as "Isthmic Spondylolisthesis". After a weeks worth of taking the medicine there was no improvement. Dr. Quigley then recommended injections directly in the spine to possibly provide relief.

Since the conditions worsened: 3/19/10 to present

- 3 epidural shots to the back
- Medications listed above all prescribed after the onset of the intense pain
- Another X-Ray and MRI of the back which still shows the spondylolisthesis at L5-S1
- Met with Dr. Quigley (spine specialist) again and he no longer feels that the pain in the legs is caused by the spondylolisthesis seen in the back based on the fact that there has been no relief from the 3 epidural shots that were administered.
- Also performed the following tests
- full body bone scan (showed no problems)
- nerve conduction study and EMG (showed some erratic nerve issues at the L5-S1 vertebrae which confimred what was seen in the MRI)
- An array of blood work (everything was fine)
-Saw a different vascular surgeon and repeated the ultrasound test which showed no vascular problems
-Saw a rheumatologist who also confirmed that there were no signs of arthritis
-Saw a different neurosurgeon who asked us to pursue with a neurologist to determine the source of the pain.
-Currently waiting to see a neurologist for follow up
-Currently undergoing physical therapy to basically stretch the muscles and provide some heat
-Also currently undergoing aqua therapy in a pool to help get the legs moving
-Have also had 4 appointments with a licensed acupuncturist
-None of the above therapies have provided any relief and the conditions with the leg pain are still the same

It is probably much easier to list the exceptions (since most cultures use the Jesus-based standard of considering this year 2010.) So where would one, for example, expect to find newspapers which make no mention of this being the year 2010 and thereby avoid any acknowledgment of the Anno Domini numbering standard?

(Obviously, even those which use "C.E." are also basing their chronologies upon the life of Jesus Christ. They simply are avoiding mention of him or a title of Jesus. So there's no need to reiterate the thinking behind the euphemisms because they are just as Jesus-based.)

Of course "C.E" remains Jesus-based. It simply replaces "A.D." with "C.E" without any attempt to change the numbering systems origination date (which assigned year one to the year formerly believed to have been the year of Jesus birth. The fact that they got it wrong in no way changes the REALITY that the world still numbers years by a PRESUPPOSITION about the historical Jesus.

I'm amazed how deep is the denial of those who dislike reality.
